HADDON RIG REUNION
NOVEMBER 6/7 2010
ATTENTION ALL EX-HADDON RIG EMPLOYEES!
Many Australians think of Haddon Rig as an iconic part of their rural heritage – with world famous merino sheep – part of their cultural identity.
But for hundreds, maybe thousands of Australians, Haddon Rig the place, stretching over one hundred square miles of central western New South Wales, was once (and still is) their home – where they started/furthered their careers – met their future partners; brought up their families – learnt their craft; shaped their character and experienced adventure and friendship, hardship and achievement – a unique rural community where teamwork and individual effort matter – and the stories are just waiting to be told.
By request, Haddon Rig is to open its doors over the week-end of 6th and 7th November 2010 to all ex-employees – a chance to catch up with old friends; see the development of the property into a showpiece of modern agriculture; and enjoy some country hospitality in familiar surroundings.
The 2010 HR Reunion will be an all-inclusive week-end, with property tours, blade shearing demos; a menu featuring our own delicious lamb and an Archival Slide- Show. A cricket match is planned for Sunday morning, finishing with a BBQ brunch.
Registrations of interest are to be made through the Haddon Rig Web Site: www.haddonrig.com.au
A booking form will be sent to you asking for prompt payment ($100 per person to include drinks, dinner and brunch on Sunday). Alternatively, please contact Haddon Rig for a booking form.
Accommodation: It is VERY IMPORTANT that Warren accommodation is booked asap as the COTTON CUP RACES are also being held over this week-end in Warren. Some Warren hotel rooms have been reserved for the Reunion.
Please note: There is only space for swags/campers at the Shearer’s quarters on the property.
We plan to run a bus service to Warren for the dinner.
YOU CAN HELP! May we request that you scan and digitally copy any photographs you may have from your time at HR and send these to Sally Falkiner, “Haddon Rig”, Warren, NSW 2824 with captions, to add to the archives.
LET OTHERS KNOW! Please help the bush telegraph along by letting interested parties know about this event and direct them to the Haddon Rig website or to contact Sally Falkiner: salfalkiner@bigpond.com or telephone: 0268 473 183. A roll-call of names is listed on the HR web site, please take a look and help fill out missing contact information and names of ex-staff.
