Polls the go at Trilby Station

Some great photos from Trilby Station at Louth recently where the Murray family were busy crutching and getting ready for joining with their first lot of Haddon Rig Poll Merino rams.

The Murray’s recently made the switch to Haddon Rig Poll rams, preferring the ease of handling at shearing and crutching, and reduced risk of poll strike for their operation, which spans a whopping 320,000 acres.

They’ve been using our horned rams over the years but were eager to make the switch to Polls, wanting to maintain the genetics and wool quality they've been growing for seven generations.

“We chose to go with Haddon Rig polls because we like the fact that as well as being large framed, they have that excellent wool quality, do-ability and consistency HR is known for. You just know they’ll perform.

We trust the HR team and have been working with them for a long-time.”

For the past three years, the Murray's have recorded over 100% lambs at marking and are looking forward to their first drop of Poll lambs in Spring.

Feedback like this tells us we are headed in the right direction with our breeding program and producing rams that meet the needs of our clients.
